Nursery contributed plant descriptions

An excellent edger or groundcover growing to only to 18 inches tall and spreading by rhizomes, its charming bamboo-like foliage is a showy orange -to-bronze in spring and bronze-to-red in fall; foliage and berries are toxic to livestock, deer resistant!. S-PSh/M
A dwarf form, this cultivar grows only to 2 or 3' at maturity. Upright and bushy, but freely spreading in habit this variety branches from the ground in a dense mound. The leaves are held all year but change from green to a glorious display of russet to bronzy red in winter. Clusters of white flowers show above the foliage, held on spikes, and turn into red berries in autumn.

The compound leaves of this adaptable evergreen give it a soft, feathery look. New growth is purplish-red, maturing blue-green, with red tints in winter. The small white flowers, which appear in late spring, are not terribly showy, but the bright red fall berries are highly ornamental. Plants are upright in habit and sucker slowly to form a colony. They thrive in sun or shade and any kind of soil. AGM winner.
