    Distinctive and handsome much of the year, this attractive 40-50'pyramidal tree has leaves with very distinctive long narrow lobes which are a lavish green in spring and summer before becoming a conflagration of oranges and yellows and purples in fall; this tree does produce a large crop of 'gumballs', so plant it where they will not be an issue; although the leaves of this tree might trick you into thinking it is some kind of maple, Liquidambars have alternate leaf arrangements while maples have opposite.
