Zantedeschia 'Flame' will set your garden on fire like no other! This spotted calla lily displays large, glowing, vase-shaped flowers opening golden-yellow with red edging, maturing to a fiery orange-red. Their cool and calm bright green, lance-shaped, white-spotted leaves serve as a stunning contrast. Hybrid callas break dormancy in mid to late spring once bulbs have received enough heat and quickly come into bloom from summer through fall. Likes to be moist and can be grown as a marginal aquatic. Fertilize bi-monthly until flowers fade. Beautiful in borders, containers and as cut flowers. Hardy in coastal BC with good drainage and a winter mulch or lift and store. Pollinator attractor. Deer and rabbit resistant.
This calla conveys two looks on a single plant. Flame flowers open a saturated yellow with a thin red edge. That red flows through the blooms as they mature, changing the look to a deeper shade. Choose Flame for this colorful reveal, long lasting 2-4" cut flowers and an early flowering period.
