Zn 4. Bright golden leaves / green edge. Blue
A "Dwarf Periwinkle" with variegated foliage. Can be grown in full sun or part shade. It forms a striking groundcover only six inches tall by four feet wide in ten years. Bright blue flowers appear in June and blooms continuously until winter. Growth Rate slow
An excellent, low maintenance groundcover for problem shady areas. This relatively new variety is also bright & showy! Adaptable & less aggressive than other Vincas & growing to only 4”-8” tall, its stems root as they creep, so do choose a location with permanence in mind. Not fussy about soil & tolerates some dryness. It thrives in sun-less side yards & lives happily under shrubs. ‘Illumination’s’ claim to fame is its dramatic, brightest golden leaves, edged with a border of irregular green. It’s like three plants in one: the central color appearing chartreuse in Spring, gold in Summer & cream in Winter. Plus the stems turn red as they mature. Evergreen or evergold, it brightens any shady area. A grand flush of 1” periwinkle-blue blooms in Spring & a sprinkling of bloom year around in mild Winter climates. Nice trailer for containers & hanging baskets. Clip or mow your patch every few years to keep dense & weed resistant.
