Nursery contributed plant descriptions

RARE, breathtaking beauty from Plant Delights! My favorite new plant in years…resembles foxglove but related to African Violet. Kind of a semi woody perennial with fuzzy silver green basal leaves…one foot spikes in Sept-Oct of stunning pendant flowers clasping the stem in a glowing shade of antique peach with bewitching burnt red interiors. 12-18” tall and 2’ wide; part sun to shade, well drained soil and regular moisture. VERY limited. USDA 8
This African violet relative looks like a tropical foxglove. It forms clumps of fuzzy basal leaves topped in late summer with one foot spikes of golden yellow bells with vivid, cinnamon-red centres. Too see one in real life is to know the true meaning of plant lust. Once thought to be hardy to only zone 9 it has proven hardy to zone 7. Ensure good winter drainage.
