Only 2" tall, this tiny (but never-the-less efficient) spreader makes itself known in early summer when it covers itself with pink bloom. S/M-D/GDr
Neat looking, low and tight ground cover forms a 2" dense carpet of stems wrapped in pretty, scalloped bright green leaves…non invasive, durable choice for small scale cover (plant about 12" apart) for sunny to lightly shaded sites. Prefers soils with decent drainage but can be coaxed to grow in heavier soils if you water sparingly. Eye catching, rose pink flowers in late summer dance above the leaves! Low maintenance, easy!
Zn 4. Tight green mat, turns burgundy in the fall.
A choice and quite vigorous selection of Sedum spurium, with small scalloped green leaves forming a dense ground cover and adorned with pink flowers in fall. Introduced by Dr. John Creech of the US National Arboretum.stays low, under 3" and roots in as its spreads.
Thanks to Dr. John Creech, the former director of the U.S. National Arboretum, this cute, yet durable, little Sedum found its way into our country from a Siberian Botanical Garden. A showy late blooming flourish of rose pink flowers festoons the small, round scalloped green leaves, which knit a tightset, low spreading, lush and succulent cover. Weed smothering, energetic and hardy, 'John Creech' is unfazed by light shade and is excellent for edging a pathway, creating a green roof and softening stonewalls or containers.
Trailing, ground covering stems are covered with neat rows of round, slightly scalloped dark gren leaves. Rather lovely pink flowers in the fall. Only a couple inches tall, spreads fairly rapidly to form a durable ground cover. Zone 3. -Joseph
Spreading perennial growing to 2 inches tall...one of the best ground covers for sun ..pink flowers in June
