Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Tantalizing, intense purple, succulent leaves on 15" tall stems…compact growth about 18" wide. In summer, plum buds open to dusky orchid shades! Likes sun, prefers good soil drainage. Drought tolerant, also wonderful in pots! We think it's the deepest and best purple sedum so far…
Very dark purple fleshy leaves cover the compact purple stems. In summer the clumps are topped with beautifully contrasting heads of dusty pink flowers. Maintains a good upright posture throughout the season. Upright stonecrops are useful nearly year round: mounds of succulent new growth in early spring, structural upright clumps through summer, heads of showy flower heads in late summer and fall, and dried flower stems in winter.
Injecting an element of mysterious allure, 'Purple Emperor' hosts tantalizing, deep purple succulent foliage fastened to compact, dark reddish pink stems. Summer offers a perky lift as tight set, plum-hued buds become star-shaped flowers in dusky orchid shades. Introduced by England's former Washfield Nursery after it was discovered in the Sussex garden of the proprietor's parents, this new, regally colored Sedum holds the coveted 2002 Outstanding Perennial Plant Award, and is an enticing counterpoint for Euphorbia 'Black Pearl'.
Dark purple succulent leaves and dusky purple-pink flowers.
A winter dormant perennial. Erect stems of unusual, succulent, glaucus, deep red-purple, leaves starts as small rosettes in spring. In autumn flat heads of bright magenta-pink, cover the plant like some strange new type of cauliflower.Cut back to ground level in Winter.

This Emperor’s new clothes will stop traffic too! Lovely dark purple foliage is a great addition to the garden. Not just tinged purple but saturated through & through & topped with rosy-pink flower clusters that are beloved by bees & butterflies. Blooms Summer-Fall, great for cut flower arrangements. Grows 18” tall & 24” wide, there’s been some grumbling out there that it tends to flop over so it may need some extra support to stay completely upright. Upright or leaning, I’m definitely going to be using this for great combinations - I’m thinking it will look great with Aeonium escobarii & Anthriscus ‘Raven’s Wing’ with a little bit of Orostachys iwarenge popping out here & there for a real foliar feast. Best in well-drained soil.
