Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Little known, fabulous perennial from Argentina... 2’ tall and a little wider, relaxed upright stems with dark green leaves topped with brilliant scarlet tubular blooms with flaring petals from May into fall! Hummers and butterflies take notice! Happiest in full sun & moist rich soil (but takes some dry). Loves heat and humidity of the Cajun states. Crosses over from tropical to cottage to Mediterranean.
This unusual plant has attractive, dark green foliage and bright, red trumpet flowers that flare outwards into four wings. The flowers are held on thin flower stems. 'Ragin' Cajun' is a hardier cultivar of this species that will bloom from June until frost. It is versatile for use in flower beds or containers in average to moist soils in full sun. Tolerant of heat and humidity.
