Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Very rare woody perennial from Yunnan, China; late summer pink waterfall flower racemes weep from branch tips, giving this plant a sculptural quality; 3-5’ hxw; flaking brown bark; sun, adapts to most soils, drought tolerant when established – nice in the mixed border and pairs well with perennials and/or shrubs. Rare sage relative from China! USDA Z7b 3” pot
WEEPING BUDDLEA - Weeping long pendant panicles of lavender blooms cover this exciting shrub from mid summer till frost. Likes full sun and moist well drained soil. Hardy to zone 7b, where it will grow to 3'x3' with winter die back - quickly emerging in spring as the soil warms. May grow to 6'x6' in warmer climates. Caramel colored peeling bark. A rare and unusual plant.
Not a true Butterfly Bush but a member of the Mint family, Weeping Rostrinucula produces long weeping racemes of lavender-pink flowers in late summer and fall on an arching to upright shrub. This is a dieback perennial in the northern portions of its range where it typically grows into a 3' x 3' shrub or can reach 6' x 6' in milder climates. Most recommend full sun and a moist soil for this unusual shrub but we find that it actually has better looking foliage when grown in partial sun or high shade and still provides a good deal of flowers. The unusual peeling bark provides winter interest.
This will almost surely be the most unusual plant in your garden. Looks nothing like it's relatives, Salvias! In late summer, long pendant racemes, along side long slender leaves, hang like Christmas ornaments with copious purple pink flowers spikes (like a closed Liatris bloom) that have tiny whiskered blooms that gradually open, traveling slowly down the spike over a period of two months.
