Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This flesh-colored barked birch is truly lovely. We got our original plant from Reuben Hatch, Vancouver, WA. Reuben had a wonderful rhododendron nursery but grew some interesting plants for us. Our tree is 30' and has irregular growth. It's outside my house and I enjoy the plant every day.
This is a little known or grown species. The bark is a beautiful, rich orange red that peels off in thin, tissue-like sheets. The apple green leaves turn golden in the fall. The tree can grow from 40 to 90' in height. A very beautiful single or multitrunked tree.
