Nursery contributed plant descriptions

A seriously HARDY perennial Impatiens! This one has 18” tall stems with dark green leaves that meander around by rhizomes (but nicely)...topped by large soft yellow helmet flowers with dark throat markings all summer and fall. Typical Impatiens culture – bright shade, rich soil, regular moisture (though this one takes some occasional dryness). USDA Z5b
Slowly creeping through the soil on its stoloniferous roots, Impatiens 'Sichuan Gold' will grow to 18'' tall with part sun and regular moisture. Plentiful large, flared, tubular blooms of soft yellow have orange throats and are reminiscent of gold fish - a bright school, swimming through your garden in August and September. Large dark green leaves are handsome and brighten the flower by contrast. This Impatiens allows a bit of dryness now and then. In any case, organically rich soil is the thing. Minimum temperature: -10?F
Collected by Darrell Probst in China's Sichuan Province, this well-behaved impatiens has dark green leaves on stems to 18" tall and large, pale yellow flowers all summer long. A cheerful addition to the partly shaded garden -- no hot afternoon sun, preferably in moist soil but tolerates some dryness. Besides being lovely and cheerful, it is very tough and frost hardy to at least -15 °F, upper USDA zone 5.
