Hosta collectors heads up! Upright, dark green rippled leaves tightly folded in prayer, 14” tall and 24” wide. Leaves have a thin gold margin (little halos for the little angels). 18” spikes of large lavender flowers in late summer. American Hosta Society 2011 Hosta of the Year. USDA Z3
Zn 3.Wavey dark geen leaves with white margin.
???Like a multitude of hands folded in prayer?? according to Tony Avent, this ??un-hosta?? grows to an 18" wide clump of folded and crinkled dark green leaves, with a narrow cream border. Sends up 18" spikes of light lavender flowers in late summer. For light shade in USDA zones 3-8.
Praying Hands' is the most un-hosta looking hosta to ever hit the market. Each small, 18" wide clump is composed of strangely folded, dark green crinkled leaves, each with a narrow cream border resembling a multitude of hands folded in prayer. The upright clumps are topped with 18 inch spikes of light lavender flowers in late summer.
'Praying Hands' is one of the most unique and recognizable cultivars of Hosta. Upright mounds to 16" tall have long slender leaves that are folded and curled. These leaves are dark green and surrounded by a creamy margin. One of the best varieties to use in a container thanks to its upright habit. AHGA Hosta of the Year 2011!
2011 Hosta of the year the unusually tight, folded dark-green, crinkled leaves and yellow-gold margin turning white on the end of a long, upright petiole. Each green leaf is rolled and folded into a tube shape, displaying the prominent veins on the back and shiny underside This has been around for a while and seems a somewhat odd choice for Hosta of the year. It must be the vast right wing Christian conspiracy, or maybe the Tea party.
Praying Hands is a totally unique Hosta. Plants develop as tight clumps of crinkled upward reaching leaves that nearly fold in on themselves. Leaves are dark green with a thin yellow margin. Like no other Hosta for texture and effect. Grows to about 14" tall with 18" purple flower spikes above the leaves in summer.
