Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This rare African Violet relative creates a 5' wide colony in 2 years spreading by vigorous underground runners (so be careful where you plant it). Big and bold, glossy leaves on upright stems 12-15" tall are topped by clusters of creamy 2" tubular flowers with purple spotted throats in July. Likes moist, well drained soil and light shade; its native habitat is forest and moist mountain slopes in China. We are recommending this plant cautiously since we have not had much experience with it!
