Pinky purple flowers that are beautiful doubles. Most of the plants will bloom this year.
Luscious shades of orchid and rose overlay the exquisite creamy-white fully double flowers of this shade garden queen. 15" clumps of deep-green evergreen foliage are nice year round, but the bright blooms in late winter to early spring are just what you need to cure the winter doldrums. These are very easy-care perennials that the deer do not touch. PSh-Sh/M
Helleborus Winter Jewels Berry Swirl strain offers delicious warm purples and purple red double flowers with a creamy-white central kiss. This gorgeous hellebore strain comes from the Winter Jewels Series bred by Marietta O'Byrne, one of the best hellebore breeders in the world. As with all strains the exact colour and flower shape will vary. Every plant is unique. Deer resistant. Perennial Plant of the Year 2005.
Winter Jewels™ hellebores are from a hand-selected seed strain, thus each plant produces a slightly different flower. Some 'Berry Swirl's have cream centers and dark edges. Deep green leathery palmate leaves add interest to the winter garden. Handle drought, once established. Deer resistant. Plant 18" to 20" apart.
Yummy double orchid shades, some with a creamy-white center kissed with orchid edging. One of the world's top hybridizers, Marietta O'Byrne has created this wonderful Winter Jewels™ Strain. A delight in the winter garden. Shade and deer resistant!
Another saucy double, this one in luscious cherry & orchid shades! Very decadent. ‘Berry Swirl’ bears 3” blooms packed with petals that are colorful from both below & above (which is helpful, since the flowers are nodding, of course.) Occasionally white flowered individuals with red-purple borders may appear in the mix. Long lived & hardy, Hellebores are a mainstay of the shade garden & provide ornament & interest through the Winter months & beyond! Tolerant of clay, drought (once established,) deer & poor soil, plus they’re really lovely plants. Part of the Winter Jewels series, ‘Berry Swirl’ was bred by Ernie & Marietta O’Byrne of Eugene Oregon, who painstakingly hand select & pollinate their unique strains to ensure consistency, quality & vigor.
