Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This large foliaged evergreen has maple like leaves. The deep green leaves have broad cream margins. This is a super plant that can be a houseplant and our plant has survived 0°F.
This form has large tropical foliage with irregularly variegated white margins. Every leaf is different. Plant Delights Nursery has found 'Variegata' to be surprisingly more hardy than the normal green form. Fatsia is a dramatic foliage plant for shade. The variegation on this form makes it particularly useful for lighting up those darker corners.
Fatsia japonica variegata is a large shrub to small tree in the Aralia family. It will produce large thick rubbery leaves that can be over 1 foot wide. It will stay ever green in mild climates zone 8 and up but has survived in zone 6 with some winter protection such as leaves or up against a south facing wall. Plants can grow over 10 feet once mature but in cooler climates can be killed back some each year.
Huge tropical leaves have irregular white margins. Very tropical look for a hardy plant. Good for difficult dry shady locations. Awards: Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society.
