Dramatic! The dazzling, very double, pom-pom flowers of this radiant coneflower are a bright, brilliant orange-red. This very sturdy cultivar forms a deep-green clump 30" tall to support the 3' flower stalks with flowers three inches across! Prolific, adaptable to heat-humidity-drought, it's a knock-out in border or vase. S/M PP21022

The lightly fragrant flowers attract butterflies! A hardy clump perennial to provide long lasting color in the garden. Coneflower is easy to grow in any well-drained soil. It requires little water once established. Plant in mixed borders, cutting gardens and mass plantings. Deadhead regularly, but leave last flower heads for birds.
Sizzling, red orange, double cones with falling tails heat up the sun border in summer. Contrasting dark burgundy, sturdy stems. Upright, with lance-shaped leaves. From the Cone-fections Series which offers reliably hardy, very floriferous, stocky plants with strong sturdy stems. Wonderful planted en masse and superb as a cut flower. Echinacea in coastal BC should be planted in hot, dry, sunny spots with thin, average to poor soils for best overwintering. Photo courtesy of Walters Gardens.
This hybrid from master breeder Arie Bloom is a fiery jewel of a flower. Visually dazzling and lightly fragrant, it attracts butterflies by the score. Looks great paired with silky textured grasses and globe thistles for contrast. Strong stemmed; site in very well-drained soils for reliable winter hardiness. Summer bloom.
At first we thought, what a silly Echinacea...just who is this Coneflower trying to impress? After awhile, the pompous pompoms began to grow on us, and a number of our customers have asked about it. 'Hot Papaya' bears a boss of tangerine red petals skirted by a row of drooping ones on sturdy 3' stems. Flowers last forever cut. Butterflies can't resist it either.
