A treasure from the forests and streams of southern China, this rare evergreen Solomon's Seal has deep green foliage on gracefully pendulous stems which are decorated with white bells in spring, the blossoms then ripen into unusual lavender seedpods; this beauty slowly naturalize by creeping rhizomes; a super addition to the fairy or woodland garden and a perfect Hosta companion. PSh-Sh/M
Arching upright stems to 15" are evergreen with nice, glossy luxurious foliage - White bell flowers dangle in profusion in spring! Gorgeous 'woodlander' for humusy soil and part shade; forms a nice colony over time. Elegant, refined, choice and RARE - another Heronswood refugee.
Very interesting plant from the Himalayas. The two clones that we are producing are from Elizabeth Strangman at Washfield Nursery in Kent, England. One has clear white pendulous Disporum like flowers below the horizontally weeping sprays of dark green glossy foliage and the other form has dark stripes on the flowers. Plants grow to ??" tall and form a clump of 6-12 plants in a year or two.
Perennials which hold their foliage all winter here in the northeast are rare and valuable, and this Evergreen Solomon's Seal is a precious addition to the shady border. 15-18" arching stems bear dangling white bells which are tinged with green offer flower interest early-mid spring. Plants spread modestly by rhizomes, forming a nice groundcover and enjoy a soil that is well drained but rich in humus. Disporopsis a great companion plant for Hellebores and smaller Hosta. Site in protected spot from desiccating winter winds.
Shiny green foliage. Tiny white flowers early in summer. About 8-12" tall.

EVERGREEN SOLOMONS SEAL - A dwarf evergreen variety with arching upright stems of glossy elegant foliage. In spring a profusion of dangling white bells form. Great for the woodland garden. Likes humus soil, part shade, moist. Slow grower.
Another of the increasingly abundant evergreen Solomon seals from southern China, this 1 ft tall - or a little more -- dark green leaved perennial spreads slowly to clumps of 3-4 ft and produces green tipped chartreuse to cream flowers in mid spring. Similar in habit to A. fuscopicta but with much narrower leaflets. Prefers summer moisture and capable of growing in amazingly dark places. Frost hardy and evergreen to USDA zone 7; colder with protection.
This is a darn good plant from Sichuan China that really performs here in the Northwest. This makes dense clumps of upright stems clad in glossy evergreen leaves below which dangle white bells in spring. We typically cut back last years growth in spring. Easy.
