Colocasia esculenta ‘Blue Hawaii’ is a large, striking plant with large, pointed, heart-shaped foliage marked with purple veins on the topside and cranberry veins on the underside. Elephant Ears is a semi-evergreen perennial. Colocasia makes an excellent accent in the garden, container or pond. This majestic tuberous plant prefers organically rich, medium to wet soils. Adds bold color and a tropical look to any garden.
'Blue Hawaii' has large green leaves with prominent bluish-purple veins, an undulating bluish-purple margin, matte finish and semi-glossy dark burgundy petioles (stems). The Royal Hawaiian Colocasia series has a tidy clumping habit that is perfect for large containers, landscaped beds and pond-side plantings. Quite unique and very beautiful.
Colocasia Blue Hawaiian is a colorful hybrid with light green foliage and dark blue to purple veins. The petioles are pink to maroon in color and plants can grow to 4 to 6 feet tall.
