Handsome blades with dramatic green and white stripes stand out in any garden. This grass is upright in form until the flowers appear. Graceful, drooping blooms are replaced with clusters of sparkling white seed heads in late summer. Chasmanthium is a woodland, warm season grass. In fall the leaves turn to copper, then brown and, along with the clusters of flowers, persist through the winter for interest over a long season. Tolerant of some shade, coastal salt air and damp soils. Photo courtesy of Walters Gardens.

This durable native clump forming perennial grass has amazing pure white and green variegation that absolutely lights up shaded areas. An excellent new selection of a drought tolerant to moisture loving native. The large 'Fish-on-a-Fishing Pole' like seed heads dangle from the long flowering spikes that emerge in late spring and early summer in white and green and mature to a soft brown that can last through winter.

This stunning variegated grass ranks up there with the brightest and best. It's spritely and refreshing and so anxious to please that it will tolerate nearly any soil, water, and light conditions. No kidding. Its favorite, though, is moist soil and part shade. Hints of pink, and dangling ornamental "oats" of cream, white, and green, will delight you no end in the fall and into winter. Beautiful in arrangements, too. Native to the SE US; 30" tall x 24" wide perennial.
