Amsonia tabernaemontana 'Blue Ice' is a fast-growing broadleaf deciduous perennial with green foliage. In spring blue and lavender flowers emerge. Attracts bees, butterflies and hummingbirds making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with sun - mostly sun and regular - low water. Drought tolerant once established. Adapts to various soil conditions. Does well in acidic, alkaline, average, clay, gritty, lean, rich and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something heat tolerant and humidity tolerant.

Blue stars are North American natives with handsome glossy foliage and star-shaped blue flowers. Amsonia 'Blue Ice' is one of the most beautiful flower forms with clusters of plump dark, navy blue buds opening to lighter, vivid periwinkle blue star-shaped flowers. The compact clump of bright green leaves turns an attractive yellow in fall. Deer resistant.
