Nursery contributed plant descriptions

A vision of perfection, a haze of lavender blue, not a petal out of place, not a marked leaf, never an untidy stem. Award winning 'Blue Fortune' is just a great summer blooming perennial plant. Plant it and butterflies galore will visit- bees too!"
Spires of 5" soft violet-blue flowers arrive in continuous succession from mid- summer to frost, engulfing the upright stems. We love 'Blue Fortune' for its robust growth habit easily reaching 5' tall in fertile soil. The anise scent is pleasing in the garden and when planted in multiples the colored blooms are magnets for butterflies and bees. By far, 'Blue Fortune' outperforms other Agastaches including A. foeniculum and A. rugosum.
'Blue Fortune' is an award-winning plant for good reason: it offers a long season of bloom from midsummer to early fall with lavender blue, bottlebrush-like flowers on strong, upright stems. The foliage smells distinctly like black licorice when crushed and can be used in salads. A hybrid between the North American A. foeniculum and the Asian A. rugosa.
Dark green leaves with burgundy edges in dry situations. The blue flowers are held on a 7" inflorescence and rise to 3'.
A hybrid selection of Anise Hyssop with a compact 2-3' habit and a profusion of long-lasting blue flower spikes that appear from June to September. For sun and average to dry soils.
Newer hybrid Hyssop that just blooms it's head off. This loves a sunny hot spot in well drained soil with low fertility. Sound like Port Townsend? This makes a bushy plant with many vivid flower candles for the entire summer. Scented foliage is pest resistant to boot.
