Nursery contributed plant descriptions

A newly introduced species. This forms an upright to fairly compact growing evergreen shrub. The large funnel-shaped flowers are rather unusual for this group in that the bright greenish-yellow color of the emerging flowers matures into a rich shade of pale yellow as they age. Very beautifully colored flowers. Easy with good drainage and quite hardy for a Maddenia. I have had it outside for many years in Seattle.
A most interesting foliage plant. The leaves are small and somewhat rounded with dense scales below and hairy around the edges. The white, with a yellow blotch, flowers are an attractive addition to a plant that is exceedingly rare. (RN, rn, Maddenia)
