Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Red buds open to a warm yellow and lighten to almost white at the edges. Small bright red flares deep in the throat compliment each flower on an exceptionally large, upright truss. Large, deep green leaves compliment provide a good backdrop for the floral display.
This hybrid from Dr. Ned Brockenbrough in Seattle is really fantastic. It is the most upright, cone shaped truss of any yellow. Red buds open to a mellow, warm yellow flower with small vivid red flares. Gigantic trusses of 15 or more flowers are very showy. Large, leathery, deep green leaves clothe this lovely plant.
