Nursery contributed plant descriptions

One of our favorites, mostly because we get to use one of those cool words–flocccose–to describe the yellow thick hairy leaves. 2 foot tall by 4 ft wide or so with woolly lavender pink flowers. From the Balearic Islands. Full sun, not much summer water. Frost hardy in USDA zone 7.
Evergreen, interesting, and very pretty, this Phlomis has soft pink tiered whorls of hooded flowers and the leaves are a complimentary light grey-green - altogether soft in texture and soft in color. 3' x 3', a manageable size. (Incidentally, the Balearic Islands are off the coast of Spain near Mallorca, but you knew that, right?) Minimum temperature: 0?F
Subshrub to 2' with narrow, white-felted leaves and clusters of pink or pale lilac flowers that appear from summer to autumn. Hardy if grown in extremely well-drained soil in full sun. Hardy to 10 °F. Balearic Islands.
Vertically spaced pink to pale lilac flowers in whorls of six.
