Nursery contributed plant descriptions

The foliage of this compact 1-2' evergreen shrublet has a purple-red edge in winter, pale lilac flowers in summer. S-PSh/M/GDr
A seedling of H. albicans that originated in 1968 at County Park Nursery in the United Kingdom, we brought ours as cuttings from there in 1995. Plants form the same 2-3 ft, dense mounds, beautifully patterned in silver-blue leaves edged in maroon-pink, and bearing mauve flowers in June to July. We have planted ours in combination with Phormium tenax 'Pink Sprite', Nerines, and small, silver-leaved shrubs. Low USDA zone 8, possibly briefly zone 7 (though that would nuke the Phormium.)
A favorite Hebe here at the nursery, this plant makes an exceptional container subject where it holds a tight form, growing to no more than 2'. As the name so aptly describes, the pale gray-green, densely held leaves are edged smartly by a fine red margin. Coupled with Carex comans 'Red' or Uncinia uncinata, this reliable plant makes a subtle and handsome statement. Pale violet-blue flowers appear in summer.
Hebe ‘Red Edge’ is a rounded, mounding, evergreen shrub with red-edged greenish-gray leaves which take on a reddish tint in winter. Displays pale pink flowers. This variety is hardy in the Northwest. Plant in well drained soil and water regularly through the growing season. These versatile plants are excellent for borders, containers and mass plantings.
Similar to Veronica albicans, but more of a low growing mound that is broader than wide and hugs the ground. The leaves, rather than blue, are blue-grey with red margins.
This is a fine hybrid Hebe with likely some H. albicans in its ancestry. This will make a dense low mound of rounded gray almost succulent foliage variably edged in red. The flowers are quite good on this free-blooming selection opening to a soft lilac and then fading white as they mature.
Evergreen shrub 2' tall x 3' wide with red-margined blue-gray leaves. Nice compact habit.
Blue-green foliage with margins of rosy red. In winter, the leaves deepen in color to an outstanding maroon. Lilac flowers, which fade to white as they mature, are produced in midsummer. Dense, mounding habit. Excellent in a container or a mixed border. AGM winner.
Small growing with lilac fading to white flowers. Drought tolerant once established.
