Fuchsia magellanica is the hardiest of the genus. It has arching stems to 2-4 feet high with small, pendulous flowers for months on end through summer and fall. They are popular with hummingbirds and bees. ‘Hawkshead’ has pure white flowers. Grow in the ground or in containers. In colder zones plants can die back to the ground. In milder zones plants can remain semi-evergreen. Possibly hardy into zone 4 or 5 with heavy mulching in a protected microclimate. Deer resistant.

This hardy bush Fuchsia is quite a pleasing addition to the garden where it performs admirably in a sunny spot with lots of narrow hanging white flowers which are touched in faintest green on the tepal tips. Recent winters have put a whupping on reliably hardy plants so if it is going to turn nasty, mulch the base and trunk well. Easy and gratifying.
This tall fuchsia covers with white flowers and is very hardy in-ground.
