Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Bright and festive, the 5-lobed leaves of this 8-10' shrub maple are brightly variegated with white and cream; originated in The Netherlands. S/M
One of the few variegated plants that will thrive in full sun, the Carnival Hedge Maple displays pink and cream variegation in the spring and pure white variegation later in the summer. The branching habit is dense with a thick leaf canopy that looks best growing against dark red or purple colored plants where the colors can be highlighted further. Once established Hedge Maples are very drought tolerant and thrive in a wide variety of soils with a slight preference to an alkaline pH. Overall 'Carnival' is an easy to grow and colorful plant with very low maintenance requirements. Remove the occasional green branch during the summer to keep the leaf color pure.
The English hedge maple makes a small shrubby tree with deep green leaves. A. campestre 'Carnival' is a small version (8-10') over a long time. The foliage is white with a light green center.
Fairy small, symmetrical leaves have blunt lobes. Each leaf has a copious amount of bright white variegation, contrasting with the light green typical of the species. A beautiful, and fairly slow-growing tree.
New leaves begin pink and then turn a striking green and cream. Needs a break from hot afternoon sun.
A rare, variegated form of Hedge Maple. Carvival is by far one of the most sought after maples in recent years. A dwarf, rounded tree with small green leaves outlined in pink and white in spring. Pink eventually fades leaving a clean white margin around each leaf. Variegation is consistent on each leaf. The contrast with the bright white and dark green on the leaves in summer is truly unbelievable! Fall color is yellow to gold. This tree will form a nice rounded tree. Excellent for bonsai work or as a head-turning landscape specimen.?One of my personal favorites!
A tough species, so its brilliantly white variegated foliage lends variety more flexibility in planting choices. Occasional green side branches are easily removed, but we leave a few to give the plant more photosynthetic ability and increase its vigor overall. Hard to find in the trade, so book yours early.
New growth pink then variegated green & white, corky bark, good for bonsai. Hardy to USDA zone 5
A dwarf hedge maple with small leaves outlined in pink and white in spring, later with white. This tree attracts more notice in my nursery than any other. Zone 4
With its extreme light green and white variegation, 'Carnival' looks healthy and beautiful despite being deprived of chlorophyll. And despite its variegation, it does quite well in sun. Exquisite pink new growth and magenta petioles can take your breath away. This is a choice small tree 10-15 feet tall.
