One of the few variegated plants that will thrive in full sun, the Carnival Hedge Maple displays pink and cream variegation in the spring and pure white variegation later in the summer. The branching habit is dense with a thick leaf canopy that looks best growing against dark red or purple colored plants where the colors can be highlighted further. Once established Hedge Maples are very drought tolerant and thrive in a wide variety of soils with a slight preference to an alkaline pH. Overall 'Carnival' is an easy to grow and colorful plant with very low maintenance requirements. Remove the occasional green branch during the summer to keep the leaf color pure.

A rare, variegated form of Hedge Maple. Carvival is by far one of the most sought after maples in recent years. A dwarf, rounded tree with small green leaves outlined in pink and white in spring. Pink eventually fades leaving a clean white margin around each leaf. Variegation is consistent on each leaf. The contrast with the bright white and dark green on the leaves in summer is truly unbelievable! Fall color is yellow to gold. This tree will form a nice rounded tree.
