Choice, tender, evergreen shrub that's hardly green at all. Yellow margins are flushed pink on green leaves -- all the colors darkening in winter. It's like adding paprika to your container. To 5 ft x 3 ft over time. Flowers are insignificant. Best with protection from afternoon sun except in cool coastal climates. Well drained soil and occasional to regular summer water. Can be sheared. Frost hardy to 20F, USDA zone 9.
Glossy green and cream variegated leaves are tinged with gold and pink and become hot pink and olive green in winter. A neat compact shrub for a low hedge or container plant. Evergreen.
TENDERENNIAL – Hardy to only 25 °F, this tender lovely would make a 4-5' scrumptious shrub in San Francisco….alas, for colder climates, this 'kiwi' is demoted to seasonal annual! Sublime, tri-colored leaves will light up your life…even if is just for a short time (unless you have a greenhouse). Dark green, reflective leaves are edged in yellow, with oranges and reds. 'Foofy' filler type of growth – sun for best color, takes light shade. Most decent soils with some time release fertilizer to push it along.
Australia/NZ plants in the Coffee family. Good for coastal conditions. Great foliage shrub.
