Nursery contributed plant descriptions

(Columbine) Colorful Irishy gold and chartreuse marbled foliage crowned with 2’ tall spikes of violet flowers April – May. Grows in clumps 18” wide. Cutting foliage and spent flower stalks to the ground refreshes leaf clump.
This cultivar is similar to 'Lime Frost' both of which have fantastic foliage which is emerald green and splashed with gold and cream as well as dark purple flowers. However, those of 'Leprechaun Gold' are double while those of 'Lime Frost' are single. 'Leprechaun Gold' will grow up to 30 inches tall.
A merry union of speckles, splotches and streaks in Irish green, chartreuse and golden hues embellish each marbled leaf, rendering no two alike. Spurred deep purple pendulous flowers, poised on tall slender rosy stems lend splendid dark accents. Deemed the most treasured of variegated Aquilegias, this colorful Jelitto Seeds introduction gilds a shady nook, while a hard trim after blooming refreshes its leafy clump.
This 24-30"leprechaun isn't shy, just fine... its striking yellow ; green variegated foliage lighting up any shady corner, providing a special backdrop for the deep purple flowers of April-June. Sun-PSh/Med
A playful columbine with leaves mixed and spreckled with gold and green creating a bright spot in the shady garden. Clumps to 18" tall are topped in April with violet purple flowers, a dramatic contrast. Whenever the foliage looks tired, simply cut to the ground and new, fresh leaves will appear. Sun works on the coast but light shade is best inland -- in rich soil with regular summer water. Frost hardy to at least -30F, USDA zone 4.
Woo hoo! This is truly a cool “must have” Columbine for my garden & yours! Light up your shade with its neat-o gold & green marbled foliage or use it for contrast against darker foliaged plants. And when it blooms what do you get? Totally pretty deep purple pendulous “Granny bonnet” flowers. Along our foggy coast you can grow your Columbines in sun or shade. If your soil is rich & you don’t let it dry out you won’t get any leaf miners. Cut back foliage to the ground whenever it looks shabby & fresh leaves pop right out, keeping a nice look year-round.
