Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This hardy Impatiens comes from high places in Nepal. The lavender blue flowers are huge for the species - 2" long, with an evocative cerise and golden throat. Prolific bloomer all summer and fall. The red stems add drama to this tumbling, sprawling, rare beauty! We think this is best appreciated cascading from a hanging basket, where it stops people in their tracks…to ask "Waz that!?" 18" h x 3' w - Rich, moist soil and bright shade are ideal.
Hardly a tougher Impatiens can be had! Cold hardy & long blooming, we've witnessed established plants of this species grow to 4' wide in DRY SHADE. No lie! It's that tough. It also has super-fancy trumpet-like bluish flowers with a curious asymmetry. Fabulous in a hanging basket, especially because the flowers are generally found below the stems & this provides a closer view. Described as being very cold hardy & it's definitely taken brutal frosts here, but we aren't sure exactly how much cold it can survive. Blooms a LONG TIME - late Spring through Fall. Leaves are long & shallowly serrated & show nicely against the plant's licorice red stems. Grows up to 4' wide & around 2' high. From Nepal!
