Vitis davidii is a broadleaf deciduous vine with green foliage. In spring green flowers emerge followed by purple fruit. Attracts bees and birds making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with sun - mostly shade and even moisture - regular water. Does well in alkaline, rich and well-drained soil.

The only grape with thorns (that we know). The soft barbs cover the stemms of this large grower. The foliage can be up to 18 inches across. Since these are grafted, we haven't ever had fruit. We assume they need a pollinizer.
