Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Bright growth in spring makes an attractive contrast with the older growth on this handsome evergreen; to 6-8' tall x 4' wide in 10 years, it makes a fine focal point or hedge. S-M
Beautiful specimen evergreen shrub to 3’ with needle like foliage and an arching rounded growth; the ‘fire’ starts with new growth in orange/pink/red/yellow hues that begs for close up viewing; fall brings red berries on older plants and winter an overall pleasing bronze cast. Well-drained soil and sun to light shade for best color displays. Looks at home with conifers and in a zen setting. Also fab featured in a great pot! USDA Z7
OoooH! We think we are becoming quite enamored with these little podocarps. Another down-under plant selected by famed County Park Nursery in the United Kingdom, this jewel-like little conifer, reaches only about 3 ft with densely held, shiny, rounded needles of deepest green/maroon in summer, taking on fiery purple-orange tints in winter, especially in new growth. A fabulous addition to container or garden. The P. alpinus group is one of the most hardy of the genus, this plant having been hardy to close to 0F in several gardens. Stunning when planted with other party goers such as Uncinia rubra and, maybe our favorite, Libertia peregrinans for a rusty contrast. Average soil conditions; bright light best; not appreciative of prolonged drought. Frost hardy to 0F, USDA zone 7.
A low spreading form with bright red berries in fall which are attractive clinging to the bronze winter foliage, in spring the new shoots emerge creamy and quickly turn salmon pink then reddish and finally deep green.
