This 20-30 ft compact plant, collected in the mountains south of Saltillo, Mexico, has blue-green needles, attractive flaking bark, and yes, eventually, delicious edible nuts. Though adaptable to any garden, prefers full sun and well-drained soil. Very good in desert conditions. Frost hardy in USDA zone 7A, possibly 6b.
