This English selection of a California native woody-based shrublet, shows off a bevy of small, clear yellow, tubular blooms (apparently made for hummingbirds) on spikes above bright green, needle-like leaves. Spring and summer bloom. Airy and exhilarating! Evergreen; 2'x2'. Needs well-draining soil. (Mersea is an island off the east coast of England and is pronounced "mercy," having its roots in that word.)Minimum temperature: -20?F
