Nursery contributed plant descriptions

A hardy variety from Albania, grown for its high productivity and high oil content. ‘Mixan’ is self-fertile, though having a friend nearby never hurts. Full sun, well-drained soil, supplemental water to establish and to plump the fruit, withhold water in late summer to harden the leaves– you know, all the usual stuff for hardy olive trees. We’re not certain about the ultimate height if left unpruned for generations, perhaps 30 to 40', but easily kept much shorter. Cold hardy to 10 °F or less, USDA zone 8.
