Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Tiny little plants, only an inch or two tall, with large, bright yellow flowers in late winter to early spring. Extremely striking and showy. Hails from the warm climes of Argentina, so we don't expect it to be hardier north of zone 7, but wonderful in a cool greenhouse.
Found in the wild in South America, these small bulbs form little clumps of narrow, grassy, green leaves, to only 1" tall and 6" wide, and produce cheerful, fragrant, yellow, crocus-like flowers from winter to spring, each flower lasting only part of a day. Easy in rich, well-drained soil in sun to part shade with little water during summer months. Frost hardy in USDA zone 7.
