Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Abundant clusters of rose-pink buds open to fragrant white flowers on this hybrid (V. carlesii x carlcephalum) of compact rounded habit to 4'; its disease-resistant foliage is a med-green turning reddish in fall. S/M
Pink buds burst forth into waxy white blossoms as spring's tender greenery attires this relatively tightset Egolf cultivar. Rounded flower heads feature bud and blossom simultaneously, creating a lovely two-toned effect. Lining the spreading branches, handsome, semisheened dark green foliage gives way to an orange-red hue in fall. A stellar stand-alone in the mixed border, 'Cayuga' claims Viburnum carlesii and Viburnum carlcephalum lineage, and adapts to an array of growing conditions.
Often listed as cultivar Viburnum carlessii 'Cayuga', but regardless of the exact Botanical nomenclature, this is a winner! Registered and released by the National Arboretum in 1966 as a back cross of V. carcephalum x V. carlessii, it's noted for its moderately compact, abundant snowball blooms and dark green foliage. Pink buds open to mildly fragrant, white waxy blooms like 4" diameter snowballs and give way to black drupes (fruit). BLOOMS PROFUSELY!
