Beautiful pea shrub 4-6’ tall and wide with beautiful blue green pinnate foliage with an overall airy feel. Pea shaped summer blossoms of rose lilac in dense 3-5” long June>September are very showy and followed by dark purple seed pods. Most soils (even clays), medium moisture, full sun for best growth and flower. Drought tolerant when mature. Flowers on new growth so hard prune late winter or very early spring.
Easy to please and gives so much in return: Arching, cascading stems hold elegant, fine, pinnate foliage and erect purple-pink pea blossom flower spikes. Cut back hard each spring. 5' x 5'.Minimum temperature: -10°F
Is a small member of the pea family with rich pink-purple spikes of flowers all summer. Our plant grows in full hot sun all day and blooms its heart out. The ferny foliage makes a lovely background to the loads of flowers.
Very tough and very beautiful, deciduous pea shrub with rose-purple flowers from May through frost. Grows quickly to 5 ft wide and high, but can be kept much smaller through the growing season and even cut to the base in late winter to refresh. It blooms on new wood so it gets bonus points from us. Sun to part shade with little summer water necessary once established. Heat tolerant as well. Frost hardy to -15F, mid USDA zone 5.
