Beautiful exotic tubular flowers that display many colors: fuchsia pink tubes, coral pink corollas, white sepals tipped in lime green. This bushy Fuchsia has an upright habit and where it is hardy can grow to 6' or more. As a container subject it can be kept much smaller. Native to tropical Bolivia and Argentina.
Magnificent large shrub/tree with silvery leaves, Showy tubular flowers. Root hardy? Peru, Bolivia.
Festivus maximus! Each bloom on this bold, MITE RESISTANT Fuchsia is a tropical fruit salad of colors – coral orange, pink, magenta & lime! Blooms for a LONG time – Spring-Fall & PROFUSELY – established plants can bear up to 30 blooms per stem. It grows into a shrubby 5-7’ tall, 3’ wide shrub with deep green, glossy foliage that will stay evergreen in frost free climes. Sadly rare in the trade, this species was generously shared with us by Strybing Arboretum in San Francisco, whose Fuchsia collection is renowned & superb! Very tender, so protect from frost & damaging cold, especially during the first year. Easily grown in a large container, so you can move it inside during the Winter if you live outside of its hardiness range. From Bolivia & Peru. Did I mention the hummingbird magnet factor? They definitely like it too!
The blue-green leaves on this species Fuchsia are nice, but I could stare at the flowers for hours at a time. Clusters of 3-4" cerise tubes, shiny green bracts and tangerine petals. Wow. To 6' or more, can be “lifted” to expose flaking bark or cut to the ground each year for use as a perennial. The tops are frost hardy to the high 20s °F, USDA zone 9; resprouts from 15 °F, mid zone 8 or so if the crown is mulched. Part shade and damp conditions. Excellent pot specimen.
