Iris 'Downtown Brown' plant details

Nursery contributed plant descriptions

'Downtown Brown' offers unique tones of tan, buff yellow, and brown accented with lavender, yellow and white with dark veins and orange and yellow beards. Blooms in the late mid season at 40 inches high. Tall Bearded (TB) irises, previously known as Iris germanica, have greyish strap-like, pointed leaves from fleshy rhizomes and tall stems of gorgeous, often fragrant, flowers that come in every colour of the rainbow. Divide every two to three years (or when clumps become congested and flowering decreases) just after blooming. Trim the foliage back to a third and plant the rhizomes at or just below soil level. Deer and rabbit resistant.
