Iris 'Brilliant Idea' plant details

Nursery contributed plant descriptions

'Brilliant Idea' has wavy snow white standards and ruffled white falls edged beautifully with columbine blue. The yellow and orange beards complete the show. Stems produce two branches with 7-8 buds each. A vigorous grower. Blooms in the mid season at 36 inches high. Tall Bearded (TB) irises, previously known as Iris germanica, have greyish strap-like, pointed leaves from fleshy rhizomes and tall stems of gorgeous, often fragrant, flowers that come in every colour of the rainbow. Divide every two to three years (or when clumps become congested and flowering decreases) just after blooming. Trim the foliage back to a third and plant the rhizomes at or just below soil level. Deer and rabbit resistant.
