Brunsvigia radula [red - Kliprand (4 yr 2025)] plant details

Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Brunsvigia radula is a dwarf South African bulb usually with rich pink flowers but in this case from Kliprand with unusually deep red flowers. The two rounded, prostrate, tongue-like leaves are bumpy to bristly. Flowers bloom in late winter or fall followed by the winter-growing foliage. Keep on the dry side when dormant in summer perhaps watering only once a month. This species makes a good pot plant in a gritty, sandy mix and reliably flowers each year once it hits adult size. Brunsvigia are perfect for those interested in bulbs and houseplants and for succulent lovers looking to branch out. Bulbs will reach adult blooming size at about 10 years old. Until then the foliage will be amazing.
