Galanthus nivalis 'White Dream' is said to be one of the whitest of all snowdrops which seems peculiar since snowdrops look to the untrained eye to be as white as the driven snow. But apparently galanthophiles can pick this cultivar out from a great distance as being whiter than white. It is quite vigorous, will multiply quickly, and blooms later than other snowdrops extending the season. Snowdrops are a harbinger of spring that bloom in late winter, often breaking through the snow. Their pendulous pure white flowers often have green markings, the small subtleties of which along with the variation in petal shapes beguile many gardeners who, having fallen down the rabbit hole, are known as galanthophiles. Beware! You could be next.
