Galanthus 'Bertram Anderson' is a classic, large, strong-growing, early-flowering snowdrop that will multiply well in good conditions. The extra large flowers have thick, rounded outer petals and inner petals marked with a deep green V that blurs at the edges. The foliage is bluish green. This special cultivar was found in the garden of famous horticulturist E.B. Anderson after his death and named for him. Snowdrops are a harbinger of spring that bloom in late winter, often breaking through the snow. Their pendulous pure white flowers often have green markings, the small subtleties of which along with the variation in petal shapes beguile many gardeners who, having fallen down the rabbit hole, are known as galanthophiles. Beware! You could be next.
