    Iris x hollandica or Dutch iris are beautiful hybrids for hot sunny locations. 'White Excelsior' has icy white flowers with yellow markings on the falls. Dutch iris make great cut flowers. Plant them in a location with well-drained to dryish soils where they can bake in the summer months when dormant. Overplant with ground covers like thyme, Sedum and Delosperma.
