Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Iris histrioides 'Polar Ice' is a white mutation of the beautiful 'Katharine Hodgkin'. It is a very special early spring-blooming iris (February in coastal BC) with icy white flowers detailed with royal blue and yellow. The flowers seem lit from within on a grey late winter day. Use in containers, at the front of the border or in rock or gravel gardens or other areas with good drainage.
