Shared with us by Tony Avent whose plant apparently succumbed to impact by meteor (he says it was an ice storm) -- the most important point being that, compared to C. cashmeriana, in prolonged temperatures below 20 °F the species is quite a bit tougher having withstood dips below 10 °F no worse for wear. A pyramidal tree eventually to 20-30' in cultivation with deliciously weeping branchlets of powder blue contrasting stoically with the rich, orange-red bark. We provide ours consistent but infrequent irrigation in summer. Fast growing. Probably cold hardy to the bottom end of USDA Zone 7, possibly squeaking into Zone 6; maybe you can tell us.
