This is a great succulent that we grew in our beds at the nursery last year and we liked it so much we thought we’d offer it for sale. Forming red-tinged rosettes at first but then developing solid red “pagodas” in spring. The pyramidal pagoda-shaped growth will reach about 6-10" high and will sprout small white flowers at the top. The best red color will be obtained in full sun and will be greener in more shade. This succulent is from South Africa and is definitely drought tolerant. Once the pagoda is done blooming it will shatter, dropping the individual leaves which will then produce new rosettes of their own.
Small succulent from South Africa, to 6-10" tall x 12-20" wide, with medium green, triangular leaves overlapping in stacked, pagoda-like rosettes that add red tones in the sun and produce small white flowers at the top before dropping its leaves to produce more plants. Full sun for best leaf color. Very drought tolerant once established and frost hardy in USDA zone 9. Excellent in pots or hanging baskets. Tres retro!
