A dwarf selection growing to 4' with spreading, closely branched trunks. The stems are covered with grayish, silky hairs and the small, dark green leaves are gray and hairy beneath. Occasional berries are bright red.
Dwarf version of this odd little dogwood relative from New Zealand. Our parent plants have topped out at about 5'. Tiny, evergreen leaves adorn angular and interlaced, fine-textured branches adding, in spring, tiny yellow flowers. Dodo grazing adapted. Sun to part shade with medium summer water. Frost hardy to 15 °F, mid USDA zone 8.
