Baptisia 'American Goldfinch' is a false indigo that makes a big bold statement in the garden with striking, golden yellow flower spikes. Very floriferous. The flowers are followed by ornamental black seed pods. Gorgeous upright habit and attractive green foliage looks fabulous during and after blooming. Plants will reach 36-42 inches tall and 54-60 inches wide. False indigo are like perennial lupins. They are long-lived and will adapt to a wide range of soils from dry to marginally wet to salty but dislike being moved once established.
